How did you first hear about Build Buddy, and what were your initial impressions?

I first encountered Build Buddy at the Sydney Home Show, where I met Danny, the CEO of Build Buddy. At the time, we had DA approved plans and were exploring building options, but the costs were daunting. Danny introduced us to Build Buddy, explaining its purpose and how it simplifies the building process with easy-to-use workflows and project management tools. As a new owner builder, the initial steps can be intimidating, but Build Buddy’s comprehensive approach drew us in. Given my background in tech, I appreciate a good startup, and Build Buddy fit the bill perfectly.

How did the Build Buddy App assist you in planning and design phase of your home?

The platform’s task-based approach breaks the process into manageable steps, which is crucial when building a house given the myriad of tasks involved. The included calendar feature helps keep us accountable, ensuring we stay on track.

Have you encountered any challenges or obstacles and has the Build Buddy App helped you overcome it?

One of the significant challenges we faced was with the BASIX and windows due to changes in NSW’s energy efficiency requirements in October 2023. Despite having DA approval, the new rules created uncertainty. Our previous supplier struggled to navigate these changes. In contrast, Build Buddy’s team was able to quickly address these issues, leveraging their connections and expertise to find solutions.
